I am a Canadian and as much as I am against the Amero and SPP I find your description of Canada on your
website completely ignorant. Just because the MAJORITY of Canadians are against carrying guns on your
person does not make us controlled by those liberal socialists in the East. Get your facts right.
The majority of Canadians staunchly support the FREEDOM to feel safe knowing that the majority of the
population isn’t walking around with guns strapped to their persons. I have lived in the bush most of my
life as well as in one of those Major cities in the east full of socialist liberals and I have travelled
extensively in America . I would suggest that you spend some time researching what you are talking
about before you print biased beliefs based on the American fear that your right to bear arms will be
taken away.
Furthermore, I would rather live in a socialist environment that has one of the best health care systems
in the world where everyone has equal access to the same care than to live in a country where the poor
have no access to health care because it operates on the basis of get what you can for yourself…if the
Canadian health care system has holes in it today it is only because of those in the West of Canada who
have strongly supported bringing in an American style of health care. Long live Canadian Socialism if
the American way of life is the alternative…
Further the fact remains that it is our tiny country which does supply you with a wealth of oil and oh
yeah, electricity as well. Oh yes, and didn’t you need to buy our water at one point as well because you
don’t have enough? Maybe everyone should turn their backs on America and then see where you would
be?
I am not saying pistols are legal in BC, I am saying that you are using a completely erroneous argument
for the right to bear arms. Pray tell, how many people are mauled in the bush every year by bears? Can
you please provide me with statistics? My parents worked in the bush all of their lives, hauling logs,
pulling them out of the bush with horses, back in the days when the bush really was the bush and the
wild really was the wild. They didn’t feel the need to carry guns on their person to protect themselves.
You want everyone in the world to have the right to carry guns because you feel it is offensive to your
freedom if they do not. In order to achieve this you will use any slant to reach your goal. It is absolutely
absurd to suggest that all Canadians should have the right to bear arms because there is a minority
who work in the bush who may encounter a bear from time to time.
When will Americans stop trying to force their views of “freedom” (SIC--we think it should read,
"Freedom") on the rest of the world? If there are any Canadians who truly feel they need to have the
right to carry guns on their person all of the time, they can apply for a green card because the majority
of Canadians do not wish to have the American version of freedom forced upon us. The last time I
checked, there were more people being killed by other people bearing arms then there were people
being mauled by a bear (bears)…
I know you can not possibly comprehend how an individual does not think it an affront to their personal
freedom to have a law stating you do not have a right to bear arms but I for one, feel more liberated
knowing that I am PROTECTED by that law against many individuals who should never ever be allowed
to handle a gun. Too many nutters can still get their hands on illegal weapons and in my opinion the only
reason to ever have a gun in your home is if you hunt wild game as a food source.
One very offended Canadian,
